Today we face increasing worldwide challenges; Climate change, Environmental degradation,    economic calamities and ongoing military conflicts all of which have left us a little disillusioned, with less to contribute but with a greater need to see real change.

In thinking on such challenges the “Stone Soup” story came to mind.

A simple struggling family came to a village carrying nothing more than an empty cooking pot. Arriving in a village they requested assistance from the villagers but they were unwilling to share their store of food with the family.  The family went to the nearby stream and filled the pot with water, placed a large stone in the pot and placed it over a fire. A villager became intrigued and asked what they were doing. Making Stone soup which tastes great but it does need a little garnish to make it fantastic replied the family. The villager who has a few too many carrots did not mind offering a couple to help them out, so they were added to the soup. Another villager seeing the pot also enquired and again the family mentioned that the stone soup while good could be improved with garnishing to which the villager offered a few potatoes he had but did not need. These too were added to the pot. As more and more villagers walk by and enquired they too offered that which they could spare and each offering was added to the stone soup. Finally a delicious and nourishing soup was created and the family having cooked too much offered it to all the villages to enjoy.

The message is simple; without coercion and through simple compassion a solution for all was found by each contributing as and what they could.

It is with the “Stone Soup“ philosophy in mind that NewTribeZ.net was formed; the gathering of individuals irrespective of age, race, religion, wealth or political bias contributing as and what they can when they can to in order to form one great new tribe for personal and mutual benefit as we move toward the ultimate goal of world peace.

NewTribeZ was founded on an egalitarian non-discriminatory philosophy and with the ambition to empower its members to achieve more in both the personal and business lives by expanding the opportunities for business and social interaction. In the process NewTribeZ aims to benefit worthy caused via publicity, direct action and even, if the opportunity presented itself, to assist financially.

NewTribeZ is young, our initial twelve months has been preoccupied with the creation of infrastructure and while there are many enhancements still under construction we have maintained and expanded associations with teams seeking to address social ills.

One such team is “Seed of Thought”.  Alex Petrou and his co-founders (Spenser, Lamar and Adam) are some of the most, self sacrificing, community aware, dedicated individual’s one could ever have the honour of meeting. Their largest project to date the “Street Dreams Project” goal is to draw attention to the increasing plight of youth homelessness in Australia and the USA. In order to raise funds and bring attention to the challenge Alex will cycle across the US from L.A. to New York City a distance of 7400 kilometres in 52 days. On hearing of this deserving cause we have been seeking a way to assist their efforts.

NewTribeZ is pleased to advise that today (8^th August 2011) the Street Dreams Project have accepted NewTribeZ’s offer to donate $5 for each new member that joins the NewtribeZ.net community and to add a further $5 for each of those members that continue to be active after two months. In short NewTribeZ will provide $10 to the Street Dreams Project for any additional NewTribeZ members that join during the promotion and remain active for at least two months.

At NewTribeZ we recognise that variety is the spice of life and there for facilities interaction with other sites.  We place no restrictions on members’ activities other than those necessary to enhance members’ security, privacy and to maintain the site’s general exhibition rating.

NewTribeZ values highly its citizens’ privacy and security as is illustrated by the invitation / application procedures when joining and gaining access to the site. In appreciation for members’ efforts to maintain and promote site security via peer to peer monitoring NewTribeZ agrees never to sell and to install and implement industry leading applications to preserve the integrity of all site data. Conscious of the need for transparent administration NewTribeZ has installed administrative applications to aid in the correction of non community compliant activities.

NewTribeZ Basic membership is free! NewTribeZ‘s rewards our community members (citizens) by awarding them with activity points for various actions taken on or on behalf of the community. Such points will be able to be exchanged for virtual (eg. eCards and virtual gifts) and real goods (eg. NewTribeZ merchandise and information technology products).

Premium memberships are awarded to members who have accumulated a minimum level of points with points being deducted monthly for use of Premium membership access. Points can also be purchased as to elevate a member to Premium member status. Premium members have access to an enhanced number of applications in particular access to sales and promotion activities within the site.

NewTribeZ is an independent web community founded, owned, operated and funded solely by Susan and Greg Gibson.  There are no other investors or financiers involved with the community. NewTribeZ is not affiliated with any other social network but does offer extensive cross posting and data sharing functionality with approved and trusted social networks.

NewTribeZ has been developed from a standard script, to which an array of custom modules have been added to provide a full featured web community.  Such modules include an array of security, spam and virus protection applications. In addition a diverse range of business and social applications have been added to empower the community’s citizens to attain their individual and community goals.

Greg’s professional and industrial qualifications and experience over the last 30 years seen him develop, implement and lecture on many facets within the Information Technology industry.  His design and implementation of Atlantis Trade in 1998 saw him pioneer many techniques now commonly associated with social networks. When combined with Susan’s technical training, industry experience and membership awareness on the implementation and operation of social networks over the last 10 years combines to provide a unique blend of the old with the new. As such along with the tried and proven applications which we have come to expect from a social network NewTribeZ incorporates many new and innovative developments to form the basis for a global web community.

In accordance with their community aspirations Greg and Susan engage in collaborative works with other developers and utilise community minded citizens to draw together the best most feature rich applications. As proven developers in their own right Greg and Susan develop, customise and install applications for other like minded developers.  They seek to maintain NewTribeZ’s development efforts on the leading edge, seeking not to mimic others but to continue their innovative ways and to set new development and functional standards.
